Workshops

I give talks about my work and run collage workshops in schools and libraries - these can be arranged to suit children from 4 - 12 years old and are suitable for one class at a time. I usually begin sessions by explaining some of the stages involved in creating a picture book and showing early sketches and mock-ups. Then, I use some of my large pieces of artwork to explain how I put my work together and talk about the different techniques and materials that I use.

During the second part of the session, children can have a go at making a collage illustration themselves. I'll bring along baseboards to work on, lots of handmade and coloured papers to choose from, other interesting oddments and templates or cut-outs for those who would like them.

We can work in a hall or classroom and I can bring plastic boards to lay on the floor if there aren't enough tables. Parents are always very welcome and during sessons for the youngest children I will need some extra help! We also need plenty of scissors and glue sticks.

I am based near Salisbury and happy to travel reasonable distances. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more.
